| Visión |
The beginning of the year 2000 forced us to dream, to look for new ideas and to search for change and renovation. We can pretend that everything is the same as before, but deep inside our souls we experienced this New Year differently; we were full of new expectations. This capacity of constantly creating and recreating reality is permanently part of us as human beings. Frequently, we think that the creation of ideas is the work of thinkers and philosophers and that we, everyday human beings, are no more than followers of those rationalizations of our world. But it is not true. Those of us who felt the desire for change on New Year’s also felt the call for a new meaning to our everyday life. It is an ethical imperative to answer that call.
Many of you might think these are presumptuous words. You may think these are words more suitable for a bigger institution. We do not believe that. This is a young school that chooses this solemn manner of welcoming teachers because we think that the measure of human action on the world should not be calculated by the amount of power or reach. The measure of human action is determined by the will of every human being to participate in the creation of Meaning in the specific time, place and circumstance in which he or she chooses to live. |
