A school on a human scale to grow in community, with nature.

Our compass is human development, our vehicle is academic excellence.

Each student must exploit his or her potential to the fullest, understanding that there are different rhythms and needs. This heterogeneity is essential for our project and for the type of community we work for.

We seek to develop the strengths of individuals and families through psychologists and teachers in charge of monitoring students from a particular point of view to recognize their talents and abilities.

We understand that the school is a community, a micro-world in which the student understands what society is and what the world is really like, that is why we have designed programs that seek to achieve among students the recognition and validation of the other, assertive communication, conflict resolution, mediation, decision making, care, ethical training, and responsible handling of sexuality.

Wellbeing

The special language of Los Alcaparros invites to establish caring relationships.

Conflict Resolution

Managing differences allows us to develop different perspectives and have common ground, learning to find solutions through dialogue, in the face of problems that arise.

Teachers and students model conflict resolution and mediation processes that facilitate encounter and conversation.

Family Matters Center

Enriching family values through academic and formative processes.
We accompany families and caregivers in the development of strengths that nurture family processes that contribute to the formation of our students.

Brothers & Sisters

Strengthening the bonds of community between generations.

The relationship between older and younger students strengthens the bonds of community. Each student in Kinder 4 through fifth grade has a brother or sister in middle school or high school who assumes the care of his or her younger sibling during many of the school’s activities.

Rainbow Connections

The Rainbow Connections program is part of the integration strategies and aims to accompany the child and his family during the process prior to entering Los Alcaparros, so that the arrival to the new school environment is friendly and calm.

The transition to this new stage is exciting and generates great expectations in both parents and children, but also feelings of anxiety about the challenges to be faced and the goals to be achieved. The change requires adjustments that must respond to the child’s stage of development and the expectations of the environment.

Learning Center

The Learning Center offers support to children with cognitive and academic needs. It also helps students adapt to new environments and life changes.

Speech and occupational therapists with pedagogical expertise evaluate student performance and develop strategies in therapy and classroom processes that promote better skill development and academic performance, assist in overcoming moderate barriers to learning, and provide specific support for high barriers to learning.
